“can’t catch me, i am three!”

my middle child is three! not going to lie, I switched his theme mid-planning after realizing a racing theme was more on brand for my growing toddler.

he loves cars, and just recently got into the movie turbo with the racing snail. “can’t catch me, I am three” sounds just right for a kid who has all the energy in the world.

milk it honey used flags to add the checkered look to her balloon arches. it inspired me to use the flags rather than a car as a focus point for the racing theme, as well as neutral colors.

for the balloons, I used a combination black, pearl black, pearl white, pearl silver and luxe metallic. the different balloon finishes provided texture to the neutral color scheme.

this is probably the first time I didn’t have leftover sweets from my party. I usually have cupcakes in addition to the cake, but this year we decided to go light on the treats.

we went simple with the cake, and grab a classic white from our local grocery store. we dressed it up with this custom cake topper, honestly it made it everything.

the custom cookies were the real stars of our desserts. our custom favor bags said, “thanks for racing by!” and it still makes me giggle. the small details really tie in the theme of the party and the personalization makes it special.

this was the highlight piece of the decor! very proud of this creation right here, I craft it using wood glue, pine craft wood and a lot of drying time with big books as I didn’t have clamps. this ramp is the perfect size for hot wheels cars to fly down.

overall the party was a success, and the kids had a lot of fun playing cars together. hopefully this helps inspire your racing theme party! what would you do differently?

happy planning!
